Feast of San Isidro De Labrador
Wednesday, May 15, 2013
Planters Products, Inc. celebrated the Pahiyas Festival in honor of the Patron Saint of Farmers and Laborers, San Isidro De Labrador.
The celebration started with a thanksgiving mass presided by Fr. Manny Domingo, then followed by a heart-warming speech by Mr. Jayvee Bryan Carillo, a former scholar of the San Isidro De Labrador Scholarship Grant Inc. (SILSGI) and a present employee of PPI. Mr. Carillo expressed his gratitude and shared inspirational experience of being a beneficiary of SILSGI. “Hindi po ako nahirapan nung ako ay nag aaral, dahil sa tulong ng SILSGI. Maswerte po ako na maging parte po ako ang scholarship na ito. Maraming Salamat”– Mr. Carillo said. His inspirational speech encouraged SILSGI Coordinators –the Quality Circle (QC), to work more to be able to raise fund and to continuously support the Filipino farmers in sending their children to school.
The event was replete with colorful buntings, kippings, and the famous Pancit Habhab (Pancit Lucban) and Lucban Longganisa. It was a day full of exciting activities where cake raffle and PPI’s version of the “Minute to Win It” were enjoyed and played by employees.
Employees who have exemplary practiced the value of Punctuality were recognized and were given the Perfect Attendance for the Year Award that same day. Awardees came from the Plant Operations Team namely Mr. Arturo Roxas III, Ms. Mylene Celestial, Romeo Navarro and Guillermo Manalo.
True enough, hard work as exemplified by St. Isidore the Laborer warrants good harvest. Dedication, hard work, and excellence lead to success.
